The Topic: Envisioning D’Eden
Brief
A charette is proposed for all design students and the program will be led by En. Nasir Baharudin (a local artist and senior lecture at Architecture Department, UPM) and a landscape architect (Mr Neil Challenger - New Zealand). In the charette, the students will be asked to design an environmental art piece with Janda Baik as a context.
Janda Baik is being chosen a context because of its charm and serene environment but its beauty has been threaten by rapid development and social changes. The participants will tour Janda Baik and later defined the problems faced by Janda Baik. The participants will be asked to represent the solution of the problem in the form of environmental art. It is suggested that participants of the charette will be allowed to attend the conference at special rate.

Fees
International Fees: USD 100 (RM360.00)
Local Students: USD 55 (RM 200.00)
The fees only cover participation in the student charette program. All other charges are the responsibility of the entrants and that include cost to Malaysia and registration center. The 44th IFLA world congress will also not be responsible for customs or related fees.

1. From Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA)
Take a taxi from the airport taxi counter to Faculty of Design & Architecture, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). Traveling time is 30-45 min. Please call 03-8946 4092 or 8946 4039 if taxi driver needs direction.
2. From North-South Expressway
Take EXIT UPM and follow the direction to UPM after the toll gate.
